Philadelphia’s Rod Carson Passes

KYW in Philadelphia is reporting that Rod Carson, one of the founders of Shadow Traffic, KYW Newsradio, died over the weekend at his home in Lehighton, Carbon County. He was 75. Carson was best known for the traffic reports on CBS Radio's KYW. Carson's Facebook page, which states he died of natural causes, is being flooded with comments.

Who Will Run The Entercom Markets?

On Monday more details were released regarding who will run the Entercom markets once the deal to merge with CBS Radio closes. The new information came from COO Weezie Kramer, who told Entercom employees that all Entercom Market Managers will be elevated to Senior Vice President, to be consistent with CBS Radio titles, and all Entercom Regionals will receive the President title. Here are the specifics on who will run each market and who will cover each region. 

WLIT-FM Chicago Adds Don Cheto Show

Don Cheto Al Aire will air Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. on WLIT Poder 97.5 FM, a Showtime Media station in Chicago, the country’s fifth-largest Hispanic DMA. The Don Cheto Radio Network launched its first affiliate in 2009. The show is now heard in over 30 cities.

Ashlock To Lead All iHeart Stations

Greg Ashlock, previously President of iHeartMedia Markets Group West Division, who also served as the senior business leader representing the company in the west, has been named President of the iHeartMedia Markets Group. Ashlock will now manage the entire iHeartMedia Markets Group, including all 850-plus radio stations in over 150 markets.
