WGBH President Jonathan Abbott has announced the appointment of Claudia Palmer to serve as the Boston public media producer’s next Chief Operating Officer. Palmer succeeds Ben Godley.

Former CNN Headline News star Nancy Grace and iHeartMedia are launching a new daily 60-second audio feature called Crime Alert with Nancy Grace. It's Grace's take on the latest news headlines, crimes and missing people. The feature will be distributed to radio stations nationwide via Premiere Networks.

Starks, who currently serves as assistant bureau chief of the FCC’s enforcement bureau, also served as senior counsel at the U.S. Justice Department. Starks, if confirmed, would fill the seat now occupied by Democrat Mignon Clyburn, whose term ended on June 30, 2017, but who can remain on the commission until her successor is confirmed.

And it all takes place at Emerson College in Boston. The Beasley Radio Talent Institute of the National Radio Talent System is designed as a talent incubator for aspiring broadcasters. It’s ten days long and includes everything about radio from on-air in music radio, sports, news, production, promotions, engineering, digital and social media and sales.

The fan-voted 2018 CMT Music Awards will be simulcast live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, June 6, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The live radio broadcast of the Awards telecast will air on more than 120 iHeartCountry music radio stations.
