After more than two years, thousands of dollars in legal and technical expense and the loss of thousands of WLUS-FM listeners in Durham, Wake, Orange and parts of Granville County NC, interference from an Arohi Media translator has finally been eliminated.

Dave Edwards, GM of WUWM, Milwaukee’s NPR, has announced that he’ll retire on May 30, 2019. Edwards’ career with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee public radio station began in 1979 when he joined WUWM to create a professional news department.

Urban One CEO Alfred Liggins says his radio division revenue in Q4 will be up double digits and he feels more optimistic heading into a new year than he has in a long time. Urban One's radio stations are pacing up 20% for Q4, 10% excluding political.

American Public Media Group has named Chandra Kavati as its VP of Content Distribution and Partnerships. Since 2012, Kavati has served as the Managing Director of Development Strategy and Operations for Minnesota Public Radio and APM. 

Kimmi Couture is the new midday host for Q102.1 (KRBQ-FM) in San Francisco, and will be on air weekdays 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. PT. Couture was previously a contributor for the station’s morning show.

Twenty-year radio programming vet Robert Elfman takes up the position of Program Director of Wilmington, NC, Adult Contemporary radio station WGNI-FM (102.7 GNI) and Classic Rock station WKXS-FM (94.5 THE HAWK). Elfman pent the past 11 years with Eagle Communications.
