In the TV world, Nexstar is acquiring Tribune for what amounts to $4.1 billion. In that purchase Nexstar will pick up WGN-AM radio and CEO Perry Sook didn't have anything to say about the radio station on a company conference call Monday.

ABC7 in San Francisco is reporting that former KGO overnight talker Ray Taliaferro has been found dead behind a stadium in Paducah Ky. Taliaferro was missing for three weeks. The FBI is assisting in the investigation of his death. 

Eugene Levin will step down as Entercom’s Principal Accounting Officer and Controller, effective December 31. He will continue to work for the company on a consulting basis.

On Monday, iHeart announced some good news regarding its bankruptcy proceeding. The company says it has received overwhelming creditor support for its plan to reorganize. iHeart filed for chapter 11 protection back in March and is expected to emerge in 2019 with 50% less debt, knocking off $10 billion.

For the third week running, the big-box home improvement giant has topped the Media Monitors list for radio advertisers. Last week, the company ran 41,207 spots nationwide, just edging out familiar rival GEICO with 41,025.
