Cox Media Group - Tulsa is partnering with the American Red Cross of Oklahoma to raise money for local disaster relief efforts in the wake of tornadoes and historic flooding.

A new multiyear deal will see Entercom’s 560 WQAM Sports Radio in Miami remain the broadcast radio home of the NHL’s Florida Panthers, airing all Panthers games through the end of the 2021-2022 season.

Longtime host Gary Shores posted on the K100 (WKKO) Toledo Facebook page that he's leaving radio because of his lung disease. Shores has certainly battled adversity recently. In November his wife of 43 years died from cancer. His longtime radio partner, Harvey Steele died in 2017.

According to a social media post by his daughter former KOH-FM host Bill Manders died Monday. She wrote, "This man was my best friend. My hero. The best dad and Poppi. He was a fighter and I am heartbroken he is gone." Manders experienced health problems and had a kidney transplant 2014.

Sean Plater is the new General Manager of 96.3 WHUR-FM and the Howard University Radio Network. Plater is a Howard alumnus and has been interm GM since September 2018. Radio Ink named Plater to its “African American Leaders in Radio” list in 2018 and 2019.

Andrea Hansen has been moved up to Station Manager and Director of Sales for Entercom Madison, WI, overseeing sales for 105.5 Triple M (WMMM-FM), 94.9 WOLX (WOLX-FM), and MIX 105.1 (WMHX-FM).

The Tom Joyner Foundation is joining the podcasting boom and has launched HBCUbiquity, an hour of interviews, discussion, and analysis about historically black colleges and universities. The show is hosted by Tom Joyner Jr.

Podcasting hosting company Libsyn is teaming up with Entercom to distribute Libsyn podcasts on Radio.com. Through the agreement, Radio.com users will now have direct access to the 62,000 active podcasts, totaling over 4.9 million episodes, hosted on Libsyn.
