The $240 million blockbuster deal announced by Beasley and Greater Media Tuesday night certainly had the radio industry buzzing. Interim CEO and CFO Caroline Beasley says this deal represents a "transformational growth opportunity for the company" founded by her father George Beasley.

Smyth: We Are Delighted About This Deal

There have only been two CEOs at Greater Media since its launch 60 years ago: Peter Bordes up until 2000 and Peter Smyth ever since. Smyth was not available for an interview after the deal was announced Tuesday evening. The press release statement he offered up emphasized how Greater Media and Beasley had a common appreciation for local radio. He said he was delighted Greater Media's stations will become a part of the Beasley family.
