Pai To Be Nominated To Chair The FCC

2
Pai is a great friend of the radio industry, so this will be very positive news to radio executives all across the country. Pai, a Republican, will initially lead an FCC with a 2-to-1 Republican majority. The President can name a Republican and another person to fill the two open seats with nominees who will need Senate approval.

Start On Your Client’s 20-Yard Line Instead Of Your Own

0
(By Paul Weyland) I love football. I also love sales. Today I’d like to mash up the two in a discussion called “Field Advantage: How to Start at the Direct Client’s 20-Yard Line Instead of Ours.” The idea is to use what we know to avoid always having to start from our own 20-yard line, fighting and fighting in meeting after client meeting, by instead using a couple of excellent long plays so we’re playing from the client’s 20 instead.

Fiction In Advertising

(By Roy Williams) Norman Rockwell was an illustrator of fiction. He never showed us America as it really was, but America as it could have been, should have been, might have been. His images caused an entire generation to vividly remember experiences we never had.

Radio As Part Of Your Advertising Plan

0
(By Bob McCurdy) Advertisers and agencies are increasingly engaging us in search of marketing insights beyond Nielsen ratings. Providing these insights as to where, why, and how radio fits into a media plan is challenging and requires us to know our marketing “stuff” beyond simple statistics and surface clichés. Every Friday, here at Radioink.com we'll also be taking a cool look through the Radio Ink time machine. Back in 2003 we interviewed Programming guru Phil Boyce (who is now with Salem). Here's an excerpt from our 2003 interview....

Bubba Responds To Eric’s Commentary

On Thursday, Radio Ink Chairman Eric Rhoads wrote THIS commentary about the Bubba The Love Sponge situation. It was called "Why Managing Your Talent Is Key To Revenue Growth." Apparently Bubba didn't appreciate Eric's commentary and ranted on about it for about 15 minutes on his show Thursday morning (AUDIO HERE). He also fired off a letter to Eric that he has given us permission to print. Here it is...

0
And apparently due to Michaels falling ill, both Bubba and Nielsen are asking to push back the deadline to complete discovery, which was supposed to be today. Two days ago Nielsen took the deposition of Rhody Bosley and Nielsen expert David Haas. Michaels is being called a rebuttal witness. His deposition was scheduled for today.
