Cumulus Sets Performance Pay For Executives
In a filing with the SEC Wednesday Cumulus revealed what four executives would be paid if certain performance goals were met by the company. If the company met certain quarterly EBITDA performance goals in 2017, here's what CEO Mary Berner and three other executives will make this year.
JVC Sells Florida FM
Broker Michael Bergner tells Radio Ink the selling price for WXJZ-FM in Gainesville was $500,000. Marc Radio is the buyer, which also owns four FMs and two AMs in the Gainesville market. JVC is not selling off its stations. Owner John Caracciolo tells Radio Ink this was simply an offer he could not turn down. JVC still has three stations in the Gainesville market.
Pistons Return To CBS Radio
The Detroit Pistons and CBS Radio Detroit announced Wednesday that the team has agreed to a multi-year deal with "97.1 FM The Ticket" (WXYT), making the station the team’s radio flagship partner beginning with the 2017-18 season.
Ace And TJ Making Kids Grin
The jocks’ nonprofit charity, Ace & TJ’s Grin Kids, aims to enhance the lives of terminally ill and chronically disabled children. In tandem Charlotte-area Jersey Mike’s stores, they broke their fundraising record during the national sub franchise’s Month of Giving initiative in March, raising $149,200.
Speedy Breakfast At This Year’s Conclave
July 26-28 are the dates for this year’s Conclave, marking 42 years of educating radio broadcasters. One of the highlights will be the Third Annual Speed Mentoring Breakfast on Friday, July 28, from 9-11 a.m. The venue for this year’s Conclave Learning Conference is the Doubletree by Hilton – Minneapolis Park Place.
Charity’s Gone To The Dogs
And that’s a good thing. Philadelphia’s 95.7 BEN-FM’s Morning Show team of Matt Cord and Kristen Herrmann will become the faces and voices of the annual National Dog Show Charity Walk for 2017. The Dog Show raises funds for Delaware Valley charities.
Will Mike & Mike Last Until December?
That's when the ESPN Radio duo is expected to end their nearly two decade morning radio run with Greenberg heading to TV and Trey Wingo set to take to the lead radio role. Sports Illustrated is reporting that several ESPN staffers are saying the two hosts do not even talk to each other any longer once the mic is off.
Three More For Bustos
Bustos Media has purchased three stations from Casa Media in Eastern Washington. The calls are KMNA-FM, KLES-FM, and KZXR-AM. Bustos will not begin operating the stations until the Bankruptcy Court and FCC grant approval. This would bring Bustos Media up to 20 stations.
New Spanish Top 40 Station For iHeart Austin TX
TU 103.1 (KVET-FM HD2) is now a (Spanish and English language) Spanish Contemporary format, kicked off with commercial-free music. iHeart is flipping the format on the translator from Alternative Rock. A full programming lineup will be announced at a later date.
