Apple TV+ has unveiled the trailer for its upcoming Apple Original podcast, Magnificent Jerk. Hosted by journalist Maya Lin Sugarman, formerly of The Washington Post, the podcast delves into the enigmatic life of Lin Sugarman’s late uncle.
Starting with a box of forgotten screenplays, the journey reveals her uncle’s role as a Chinese gang leader, his time in prison, and ultimately how his life story became a low-budget action film featuring Rob Lowe, Burt Reynolds, and Ice-T.
The podcast is set to premiere its first two episodes on September 18. New episodes will be released weekly. Produced by Audacy’s Pineapple Street Studios, the executive producers for the series include Maya Lin Sugarman, James Kim, Max Linsky, and Jenna Weiss Berman.
