Lonely Hearts Club, a scripted dramedy podcast series based on an episode of the Crime Junkie podcast, has picked up a big name. SNL-alum Aidy Bryant will star in the Peacock-produced show, executive produced by Ari Aster (Midsommar, Hereditary).
Set in the late 1940s, Lonely Hearts Club follows a lonely woman who falls in love with a charming con man, leading to a tumultuous partnership filled with lies, murder, and the electric chair. Former SNL head writer Rob Klein and Bryant are writing the podcast.
