Anchorage, Alaska – KFAT 92.9 is seeking a creative, strategic, and culture-driven Program Director to lead the station’s Rhythmic Top 40 programming, music, imaging, promotions, digital presence, and on-air team.
The ideal candidate understands hip-hop, R&B, and contemporary culture and can translate that knowledge into compelling programming, audience growth, and revenue-generating opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead KFAT’s programming strategy, music direction, and overall brand execution, including MusicMaster, rotations, clocks, playlists, and daily logs.
• Host a regular on-air shift and deliver engaging, relevant content that reflects KFAT’s brand and target audience.
• Recruit, supervise, coach, and develop on-air talent while maintaining a consistent, energetic, and professional sound throughout the broadcast day.
• Direct the station’s imaging, production, social media, website, and streaming content to ensure a fresh and engaging presence across all platforms.
• Collaborate with Sales to develop revenue-generating promotions, contests, features, and events while ensuring client commitments are executed accurately and on time.
• Oversee programming operations, FCC compliance, contest records, and coordination with Promotions, Production, Engineering, and management.
• Represent KFAT at remotes, station events, and community appearances while building relationships with clients, venues, and local organizations.
Qualifications
• Strong understanding of Rhythmic Top 40, hip-hop, R&B, and contemporary culture
• Radio programming, music scheduling, production, imaging, or on-air leadership experience strongly preferred
• Experience with MusicMaster or similar music-scheduling software preferred
• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and live events
• Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends
• High school diploma and valid driver’s license required
