Gerardo Sproet is taking his Houston country experience to the Texas countryside. After a run at Urban One’s 93Q Country (KKBQ) that carried him from weekend nights up to middays, he is the new full-time afternoon voice on KTEX 106.1 (KTTX) in Brenham.

Sproet officially joined the Tom-Whitehead-owned station KTEX on Monday.

While in Houston, Sproet was part of station teams recognized with an Academy of Country Music Award in 2023 and a Country Music Association Award in 2025. He also supported fundraising for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, including a livestream featuring local musicians that raised more than $15,000.

KTEX Program Director Cowboy Dave said, “He’s choosin’ KTEX, I can tell! Gerardo brings big-market experience, a passion for country music and the kind of energy that fits right in with our team. We’re excited to have him on board and look forward to getting him connected with our friends and partners throughout the country music industry.”
