
MediaCo is putting a new name in charge of its engineering operation. Ken Wilkey takes the Head of Engineering post at the multicultural broadcaster after leading media operations, engineering, and technology at stops in Spanish-language radio and television.
At Telemundo, Wilkey served as from SVP of Technology for NBC and Telemundo stations to SVP of Broadcast Operations. The role covered network broadcast operations, production services, and program editing, with a focus on digital platforms. In 2013, Univision named Wilkey SVP of Engineering and Technical Operations for Univision Television Group. He led operations and engineering for all 62 UTG affiliates, including Puerto Rico, from Miami.
Wilkey’s earlier roles also include SVP of TV Stations and Cable Technology at NBCUniversal, principal at NBC Cable Networks, and technical director at CBS Sports.
In January 2025, Latino Media Network listed Wilkey as EVP of Technology and Facilities.
MediaCo stated, “Ken brings extensive experience leading media operations, engineering and technology..Throughout his career, he has guided major technical transformations, advanced broadcast infrastructure and built strong teams.”
MediaCo’s local radio and television operations span NYC, Chicago, and Denver, including Hot 97 (WQHT), WBLS, and Estrella TV (WMBC-TV) in the tristate area.
