Former Nueva Network CEO Jose Villafane and Eric Garcia, most recently of TelevisaUnivision, are aligning their new companies to buy, invest in, and run US audio businesses across formats, languages, and platforms, without a dedicated fund.
Villafane’s new Audio Treehouse and A. Garcia Venture will pursue investment, operating, and acquisition opportunities across the US audio industry beginning in 2027.
The duo says their model is opportunity-driven rather than built around a single committed acquisition fund. Villafane and Garcia expect to evaluate deals individually and, where appropriate, work alongside investment and capital partners. They plan to create value through revenue growth, P&L management, modernized operating systems, expanded digital and content businesses, and the application of technology and AI.
Villafane founded Entravision Audio Network in 2010 and Nueva Network in 2021. Garcia founded A. Garcia Venture, an operator-led venture and advisory platform. He most recently served as President and General Manager of TelevisaUnivision’s Southeast Region and previously led US revenue operations for Spanish Broadcasting System while serving as Vice President and General Manager of SBS New York.
Villafane stated, “We see an opportunity to bring an operator’s mindset to investment across the audio industry. There are businesses with strong audiences, valuable brands and significant unrealized potential. Our thesis is straightforward: combine experienced operating leadership with disciplined investment, modern technology and new approaches to revenue, content and distribution to create greater long-term enterprise value.”
Garcia commented, “Our advantage is operating experience. We understand the revenue, operations, talent, advertisers and audiences that drive these businesses. Beginning in 2027, we intend to bring that experience to opportunities where active operating leadership can create meaningful value.”
