The Program Director behind Alpha Media’s AI Ashley experiment in the Pacific Northwest is heading to Mid-Michigan. Dylan Salisbury is moving to MacDonald Broadcasting Saginaw, taking PD stripes for the three-station cluster and mornings for 98 KCQ (WKCQ).

Salisbury most recently programmed 98.7 The Bull (KUPL) and Live 95.5 (KBFF) in Portland, OR. In 2024, Salisbury was the Content Director behind KBFF’s AI Ashley, an AI-driven synthetic version of midday host Ashley Elzinga. His earlier stops include 98.9 Magic FM (KKMG) in Colorado Springs, WZPL in Indianapolis, 107.5 Kiss FM (KKDM) in Des Moines, KFRX in Lincoln, and KDWB in Minneapolis.

The Mid-Michigan cluster includes WKCQ, 97.3 Joe FM (WMJO), and The Bay (WSAG/WSAM-AM).

MacDonald Broadcasting Owner and CEO Kenneth MacDonald Jr. said, “Dylan brings a tremendous combination of programming experience, creativity and passion for radio. He understands how to build a brand, connect with an audience and develop great talent, and we’re excited to have him leading our Saginaw operation.”

Salisbury added, “It’s an honor to lead this group of radio stations, including the legendary WKCQ. We’re going to build something special here in Mid-Michigan, and I can’t wait for everyone to see and hear it.”
