Three seasons after trading traditional radio for a streaming-first deal, the Minnesota Timberwolves are heading home. Audacy Minneapolis’ 830 WCCO returns as the team’s exclusive radio flagship this season, carrying every regular-season game.

Under the exclusive radio and streaming partnership, 830 WCCO will broadcast every Timberwolves regular-season game.

The Timberwolves aired on WCCO for 12 seasons, from 2011-12 through 2022-23. In September 2023, the team signed what it dubbed a “super non-traditional” deal with iHeartMedia that made KFAN 100.3 (KFXN) the flagship for select Timberwolves games and most Minnesota Lynx games, while launching a 24/7 Timberwolves streaming channel on the iHeartRadio app.

Alan Horton returns to the airwaves full time for his 20th season as the voice of the Timberwolves. Horton has called more than 1,500 games for the franchise, including the team’s Western Conference Finals runs in 2024 and 2025. He will team with studio host Cal Soderquist on 30-minute pregame and postgame shows for every game.

Timberwolves and Lynx Chief Strategy Officer Kelly Laferriere said, “We couldn’t be more excited to return to WCCO Radio. WCCO’s longstanding connection with fans throughout Minnesota makes it an ideal home for Timberwolves basketball, and we look forward to sharing another exciting season with listeners across the region.”

Audacy Regional President Debbie Kenyon commented, “There’s something special about hearing Minnesota basketball on the station that has been part of this community for generations, and we can’t wait to provide fans a front-row seat to all the energy, excitement and drama of another great Wolves season.”
