Norsan Media is expanding its Austin lineup with a new Regional Mexican outlet built around the genre’s biggest current stars. The Charlotte-based Hispanic broadcaster will launch Poder 93.3 on the signal it recently acquired from Waterloo Media.
Norsan Media acquired the 93.3 signal from Waterloo Media earlier this year in a deal that gave the Charlotte-based Hispanic broadcaster its first full-market heritage FM signal in Texas. The addition complements Norsan Media’s existing Austin portfolio, which includes La Raza 104.9, Mexicanísima 99.3, Romance 105.3/101.9, Leyendas 98.5, and HOLA News.
Norsan Media CEO Natalia Alvarez said, “Poder 93.3 FM is a natural addition to our Austin strategy. Regional Mexican music has a deep connection with Hispanic audiences, and this new station allows us to create another platform that feels local, relevant, and authentic.”
Norsan Media President Edgar Saucedo said, “Every investment we make is focused on serving our audiences better and creating lasting value for our partners and communities. Poder 93.3 FM expands our ability to do that in Austin while giving listeners another strong choice for Spanish-language radio.”
