This week’s Radio Ink Blast from the Past was submitted by Doug Lane. It was 1977 when Dolly Parton stopped by KERE in Denver, bringing a bit of Tennessee sparkle to the Rockies.
Pictured with her are R.T. Simpson, Doug MacKinnon, Doug Lane, and RCA Records’ Burt Baumgardner. Lane, who enjoyed a 50-year radio career across Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Colorado, Wisconsin, and Ohio, remembers the visit as one of the standout moments of his time behind the mic.
