Connoisseur Media’s News-Talk 1480 (WHBC-AM) and Mix 94.1 (WHBC) in Canton, OH, celebrated a major milestone. In its 19th year, the Annual AultCare Wish-A-thon benefiting Wishes Can Happen raised $225,324 for children facing life-threatening medical conditions.
During the 36-hour live broadcast, the stations shared stories of local children whose lives have been impacted by the local nonprofit. Co-founded by Canton residents, Wishes Can Happen, Inc. has fulfilled over 2,000 wishes since the nonprofit’s inception in 1982.
Connoisseur Canton Market Manager Brett Beshore said, “This year’s Wish-A-Thon was truly monumental; not only because our community came together to raise more than $225,000, but because we reached an incredible milestone of more than $3 million raised over 19 years.”
“Behind every dollar is a child, a family, and a wish that can bring hope, joy, and a moment of relief during an incredibly difficult time. I’m incredibly proud of our team and grateful to every listener, donor, sponsor, and community partner who continues to believe in the power of this fundraiser. Together, we’re proving what’s possible when local radio and a community come together for something that truly matters.”
