Happy Friday! This week’s Radio Ink Blast From The Past features Gil Moor at WFOM in Marietta, GA, circa 1965.
Moor told us, “WFOM had a Gates board and transmitter. The utility keys of the console were wired with a time tone, weather tone, news bug, filter for weather delivery, and deep echo to enhance the datelines of newscasts or any other program feature worthy of attention.” Moor, who started at the station at age 16, added, “The large ‘Douglas Edward’ microphone gave more depth to young voices.”
Moor would go on to found Bromo Communications.
