Women to Watch: Beasy

For Beasy, radio isn’t just a career, it’s a calling rooted in service, resilience, and community impact. Currently the weekday evening host on Urban One Atlanta’s Majic 107.5/97.5 (WAMJ), Beasy delivers a show that blends entertainment with authenticity and heart.

She also hosts the Sunday morning inspirational program Jesus and Coffee with Beasy, which recently earned a prestigious Gracie Award. Extending that message beyond radio, her podcast of the same name offers short, powerful episodes designed to give listeners a reset; a moment of reflection, encouragement, and faith, with each installment ending in prayer.

Off the air, Beasy serves as Assistant Production Director for the Radio One Atlanta cluster, where her responsibilities span far beyond a traditional job description. “My job is to make the station look good, sound good, and feel good,” she says. “It’s about creating content that connects with the eyes, ears, and heart of our community — and serving clients in a way that helps them grow.”

Her audience is rooted in connection and shared experience with primarily middle-class, working adults who value authenticity and remember life before the digital age. But Beasy’s impact goes much deeper than ratings. Through her initiative #OperationWeGotUs, she has mobilized real change — preventing evictions for single mothers, supporting the unhoused, providing holiday gifts for foster children, and helping justice-impacted individuals prepare for reentry into society.

Beasy’s own life journey fuels her purpose. Having experienced foster care, homelessness, teen motherhood, domestic violence, and incarceration, she uses her platform to inspire and uplift others facing similar struggles. “I see myself as a reflection of my community,” she shares. “We all have a story. If mine can give someone hope, then I’m doing what I’m called to do.”

Her passion projects center on serving the underserved, from organizing the Second Chance Summit in Atlanta to speaking at prisons nationwide and supporting foster youth during the holidays. Whether on-air, online, or in person, her mission remains the same: show up, give back, and remind people they’re not alone.

In an industry that continues to evolve, Beasy believes A-level talent is defined by more than skill. “It takes passion, purpose, and perseverance,” she says. “This is service work. If you’re here for anything else, you’re in the wrong business.”

What sets her apart is her versatility and authenticity. From hosting and production to digital content, social media, and community engagement, she embodies the modern media personality. “I don’t have any hype to live up to,” she says. “I’m just Beasy, everywhere.”

When it comes to viral moments, she doesn’t chase them. “Impact matters more than numbers,” she explains. “If something resonates — whether it’s humor, heart, or honesty — the audience will respond.”

Looking ahead, Beasy is focused on expanding her platform and deepening her community impact in 2026, continuing to grow initiatives that serve, uplift, and inspire.

Her advice to women entering the industry is simple but powerful: “Build your own platform. Create what you want to see. Your gift will make room for you. Just make sure it’s ready when the opportunity comes.”
