Saga Communications’ Manchester Media Group’s 96-5 Live Free Country (WMLL) collected more than 18 tons of turkeys for the New Hampshire Food Bank. The 22nd annual Tons of Turkeys event brought together listeners and local businesses to feed families in need.

The food drive took place Saturday, November 22, across Hannaford supermarket locations in Manchester, Goffstown, and Bedford.

The effort was coordinated by Manchester Media Group Promotions Director and Live Free Country morning host Laura Stelchook, who said, “It’s a blessing to watch people come to the store after hearing the call to action on-air. Neighbors, friends and listeners donating however they can to help put a meal on the table for local families who struggle during the holidays. I love watching people who have their own difficulties get inspired to come together and raise others up.”

Manchester Media Group Market President Lucy Lange added, “I am humbled by the community’s generous and ongoing support for our annual Tons of Turkeys collection drive. This year marks our 22nd consecutive year dedicated to gathering meals for the food insecure families throughout Southern New Hampshire.”

96-5 Live Free Country Director of Content Michael Czarnecki said, “I continue to be amazed by the generosity of the Live Free listeners and the community here in Southern New Hampshire. I could not be prouder of their willingness to help.”
