The Association of Public Radio Engineers has announced the dates for its 25th Annual Public Radio Engineering Conference. For those unable to attend in person, a virtual option will feature live access to all sessions and interactive Q&A opportunities with presenters.
PREC provides a two-day program designed for public radio engineers of all experience levels, focusing on topics critical to public broadcasting. The event will occur at the Tuscany Suites and Casino in Las Vegas on April 3 and 4, leading up to NAB Show 2025.
This year’s conference will include sessions on FCC compliance, FM-HD signal alignment, redundancy and disaster recovery, and other industry-specific subjects with technical presentations from equipment vendors, updates from NPR/PRSS, and insights from public radio engineers. A full conference schedule will be released in February.
Additionally, APRE is accepting proposals for presentations from industry experts and engineers, with submission details available online.
Registration is now open, with early-bird pricing available until January 1. APRE confirmed there will be no price increase for this year’s conference. Tickets for the APRE Awards Dinner, held April 4, are also available for purchase.
Scholarships will be offered to assist engineers with attendance costs, both in-person and virtual. Details and applications are available on the APRE website.
