The Florida Association of Broadcasters is set to celebrate the achievements of some of the most iconic figures in the state’s broadcasting history with its first-ever class of inductees into the Florida Broadcasters Hall of Fame, including talk radio icon Rush Limbaugh.

The FAB Hall will spotlight nine pioneering radio and television personalities, including the esteemed late talk show host Rush Limbaugh. Known for his Premiere Networks-syndicated and Excellence In Broadcasting (EIB)-owned daily talk show, Limbaugh’s legacy continues to resonate within the industry, particularly in Palm Beach where he resided.

The inaugural class also features George G. Beasley, the founder of Beasley Media Group, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Florida State Seminoles radio caller Gene Deckerhoff Jr., and Orlando air talent Johnny Magic from WXXL.

Outside of radio, other distinguished honorees include Ann Bishop, a revered WPLG-10 news anchor; Dick Lobo, former President/GM of WTVJ-TV in Miami; Bill Brooks, former GM of WPTV-5 in West Palm Beach and ex-FAB Chairman; Pat Roberts, the current FAB President/CEO; and Bernie and Edith Waterman, co-Presidents of Waterman Broadcasting.

The inductees were selected for their remarkable careers in Florida broadcasting, demonstrating a minimum of 25 years of dedication to the field.

The Hall of Fame Gala and award ceremony is scheduled for June 27.
