Former Y100, KLOS Personality Steve Gaspar Passes Away

Radio talent and entrepreneur Steve Gaspar passed away on October 20, in La Mesa, CA, following a brief illness. Born in 1949, in New Bedford, MA, Gaspar attended San Diego City College, where he earned an associate’s degree in Broadcasting.

From there, Gaspar began his career at KCBQ in San Diego under the mentorship of Buzz Bennett. He subsequently moved to Y100 (WHYI) in Miami and later rejoined Bennett at KDWB in Minneapolis. Gaspar made a significant impact as the Promotions Director at KLOS in Southern California.

In 1984, Gaspar ventured into the music video business by founding Wavelength Video and conceptualizing Cafe Vid, a unique bar-restaurant that combined music and video. He further expanded his reach in the video industry by creating National Video Subscription and the ETV Network.
