WABE, Atlanta’s primary NPR station, is launching a new original program under the WABE Studios brand. WNBA champion and co-owner of the Atlanta Dream, Renee Montgomery, will be bringing her weekly talk show, Montgomery & Co, to WABE 90.1’s radio schedule on Saturdays, starting August 12.

Montgomery & Co features Montgomery alongside her mother Bertlela, her sister Nicole Young, and her wife Sirena Grace. The unique talk show will blend interviews and cultural conversations with innovators and entrepreneurs, complemented by some light-hearted family fun.

Additionally, WABE Studios will be incorporating three new podcasts into their network: The Boom, Science Gallery: Justice & Media, and a collaboration with CreativeMornings Atlanta. They are also set to release three bonus episodes of the Peabody Award-winning podcast, Buried Truths.

“I firmly believe that moments pave the way for momentum, and this particular moment fills me with immense gratitude,” says Montgomery. “It is an honor to join the esteemed ranks of WABE contributors. My hope is to bring compelling stories that inspire and ignite meaningful conversations while providing some fun along the way!”

WABE CEO Jennifer Dorian said, “We are thrilled notable Atlanta voices like Renee Montgomery see the value of partnering with WABE and our mission to inform, inspire, reflect, and empower our community. In our 75th year serving Atlanta, WABE remains dedicated to amplifying Atlanta’s diverse narratives and talented creators. This slate of new shows is a taste of the inclusive, informative–and entertaining—programming the Greater Atlanta community can expect from WABE in the years to come.”
