The Michigan Association of Broadcasters held its 2023 Broadcast Excellence Awards, celebrating the achievements within the state’s broadcasting industry.

In the Market 1 category, WJR-AM (Detroit) claimed the top spot, while WJXQ from Lansing emerged victorious in Market 2. Market 3’s winner was WLEN (Adrian), and WKQS from Negaunee rounded out the pack in Market 4. The awards also recognized public radio stations, divided into two groups. Group 1’s station of the year winner was WEMU (Ypsilanti). Group 2’s standout station was WDET (Detroit).
