Missouri Broadcasters Adding Seven To The Hall

The Missouri Broadcasters Association announced the seven broadcasters being inducted into the MBA Hall of Fame later this year. The inductees include:

  • Dick Bott – The founder of Bott Radio Network, a national leader in Christian Talk Radio.
  • Bob Costas – The 29-time Emmy winner spent his early days at KMOX in St. Louis.
  • Karen Foss – This St. Louis television icon spent 30 years as an anchor/reporter at KSDK after getting her start in Kansas City.
  • Tom and Ralph Oakley – This father-son duo each served as President and CEO of Quincy Media, Inc. Tom, who passed away last year, is remembered for his passion to advance Missouri highways. Ralph was a strong broadcasting advocate and was actively involved with the National Association of Broadcasters and the MBA.
  • Bill Wilkerson – The St. Louis broadcasting icon’s career spanned over four decades from sports play-by-play to morning show host. Bill passed away in 2017.
  • Marion Woods – This Missouri broadcaster has been in the business for more than 60 years and continues to host a morning show at KOKO-AM in Warrensburg.

“The MBA is proud to honor these deserving broadcasters and their legacy in our state and industry,” said Chad Mahoney, President and CEO of the Missouri Broadcasters Association. “I encourage our state’s broadcasters to join us at the Hall of Fame Induction Banquet on Friday, June 2, at Margaritaville Lake Resort in Osage Beach.”
