Veteran journalists Lynda Lopez and Brigitte Quinn will take over middays New York City news stations WINS (1010 AM, 92.3 FM) and WCBS (880 AM).
Lopez will anchor from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Eastern Time during the week on WINS, while Quinn will move from WINS to WCBS in the same time slot.
“Since we embarked on our journey of two unique brands but one cohesive news organization, we have made tremendous strides increasing our coverage of the Tri-State area and today’s announcements continue that exciting trend,” Ivan Lee, the brand manager for WINS and WCBS, said on Tuesday. “Lynda’s knowledge of New York City is a perfect fit for the legendary 1010 WINS, while Brigitte and Newsline allows WCBS 880 to go beyond the headlines. Plus, Sophia’s experience will make sure that we have focused coverage on one of the largest and most important parts of our listening area, Long Island.”
The new line-up takes effect in mid-February, Audacy said. More programming and talent announcements are coming in the next few weeks.
