New York Public radio announced the appointment of nine new members to its board of trustees on Tuesday, who will help oversee NYPR and its broadcast and digital properties, including WNYC (820 AM, 93.9 FM), Gothamist and New Jersey Public Radio.

At the December board meeting, three new members were elected: Anna Quindlen (author and journalist), Diego Ibargüen (senior counsel, Hearst Corporation) and Anita Laremont (partner at Fried Frank law firm).

The three join six others who were elected earlier this year, including Jeanne Fogel (senior director of Individual Giving at Feeding Westchester), Paul Hsi (president, MPH Limited), Joanne Kwong (president, Pearl River Mart), Anne Stark Locher (strategic communications and founder, AscendU), Aaron Marcu (white collar defense and investigations, Fresfields Bruckhaus Deringer law firm) and Warren Spector (chair, Balbec Capital).

“I’m excited to welcome such an impressive group of leaders to our board of trustees,” Timothy A. Watkins, the chair of the NYPR board, said in a statement. “Each new member represents a range of expertise and shares a deep appreciation and commitment to our mission to bring the highest quality news, conversation, and cultural programming to New York City and beyond. I’m particularly grateful to have their support and guidance as we launch our next exciting chapter in the new year with incoming president and CEO, LaFontaine Oliver.”
