A Dear Colleague letter went out from Democratic Senator Martin Heinrich from New Mexico and Republican Senator John Barrasso of Wyoming urging other Senators to cosponsor the Local Radio Freedom Act.
The Act opposes any new legislation that imposes new performance royalties on radio for music airplay.
Currently, 27 Senators are cosponsoring the resolution.
Over on the House side 220 members support the Act.
