Cumulus Files Lawsuit Against Former Detroit Host

In a 47-page document filed with the United States District Court in Eastern Michigan, Cumulus accuses former WDRQ Detroit host Kristina ‘Krissy T’ Williamson of breaching her contract when she quit to work for Woodward Sports Network.

According to the filing Williamson told station management she was leaving to become a brand influencer for the sports network. Cumulus says it allowed her to accept the position based upon her specific representations that she would not go on the air or be heard on podcasts. Cumulus says it has a signed agreement with Williamson that her new job would be as a social influencer only.

Cumulus goes on to say that Williamson has repeatedly violated the agreement by appearing on a competing morning show called “Waking Up with Morning Wood with Joey, Stick & Krissy.” They say she’s an integral part of that cast now adding she has no sports knowledge and is only taking advantage of the Krissy T persona Cumulus helped her develop on WDRQ.

More recent shows on the Woodward Sports Network website do not mention Williamson in the show’s name. The morning show is delivered on Facebook Live, YouTube and as a podcast.

Cumulus claims it has lost over $75,000 worth of revenue due to Williamson’s actions. The company has asked the court to pull her off the air at WSN and seeking financial relief.
