Radio One in Richmond, VA is working to help families with school age kids get ready for a return to class. Prep for Success has 500 back-packs with school supplies to give away.
The program has been going on for about a decade with about 10,000 back-packs being distributed to families in the greater Richmond area. This year, because of COVID restrictions, the giveaway will be set up as a drive-thru event in the Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield parking lot. Anthem is a partner in the event.
The event is set for Saturday August 29. Other community organizations will be on hand to give away food and other essential items to participants.
The Radio One cluster in Richmond includes: WCDX-FM, WKJS-FM, WPZZ-FM and WXGI-FM.
