A familiar voice to Twin Cities radio audiences, Kevin Plummer, has died. The 56 year old former Traffic Reporter for WCCO passed away after an 18 month long battle with cancer.

After college Plummer started in radio in the early 80s as a DJ in New Ulm, MN. He was also a News Host for Minnesota Public radio and an Aerial News Videographer for a number of TV Stations.

“For years Kevin was a trusted voice for Twin Cities radio listeners and we were honored to work with him at WCCO.” WCCO PD, Lindsey Peterson tells Radio Ink, “It was Kevin who first broke the news of the 35W Bridge collapse in 2007, and he was quickly able to show the scale of the tragedy while still calmly providing information to our listeners. It was one example of Kevin’s professionalism and we’re saddened by the loss of our friend and colleague.”

WCCO is remembering their colleague with Plummer’s report on the bridge collapse.
