Bob Friend, host of a popular dream interpretation program in the late 80s on WAKR has died. The Dream Machine was a night-time mainstay of the station until it was cancelled in 1991 after the station was sold.
Friend joined the station in the late 60’s to help with production and then later took over the afternoon drive spot. Prior to WAKR, Friend worked for WHK in Cleveland where he introduced The Beatles for their first North Coast concert appearance.
Friend was 87.
