In these days of staying at home and social distancing some Wisconsin radio stations are jumping at the chance to make folks feel better. The ‘Jump Around Wisconsin’ movement has hit the state.
WIXX-FM in Green Bay and others joined together April 4 and played “Jump Around”, a song from the group House of Pain, that is a crowd pleasing tradition at Wisconsin Badgers football games. The coordinated airplay of the song encouraged people to get outside and jump around.
Corey Carter, WIXX brand manager and on-air personality, told the Green Bay Press Gazette, “I thought it was so cool just to see so many people doing it. It kind of brought everybody together even though nobody could be together. I thought that was the neat part about it.”
Many of the videos of people jumping around have appeared on social media.
