ESPN: We Dominate Sports Listening

It would be interesting to see national Entercom numbers for this category. On Thursday, ESPN Audio circulated a press release that stated its network accounted for 54% of all sports listening.

The data came from Edison Research’s 2019 Share of Ear survey. Four thousand people were measured. According to ESPN the data also shows that the network holds a commanding lead in the digital space, with 65% of the listening.

The press release goes on to say that approximately 66 million people per week consumed ESPN Audio content last year, up 20% from 2018. Also, those listeners increased their time spent listening with weekly numbers for ESPN Audio and ESPN Podcasts up 24% and 13% from 2018, respectively.
