The final tally is in for the WKDD-98.1 FM/Akron, Akron Children’s Hospital Radiothon. The two-day event raised more than $386,000, with all funds raised going toward patient care.

The 21st year of the Have a Heart, Do Your Part radiothon saw the giving total down from the previous year when the event was held over a three-day period.

Keith Kennedy, SVP of Programming for iHeart in Akron/Canton/Youngstown has produced the event for WKDD since its beginning. He told the Akron Beacon Journal, “Every discussion we’ve had has been positive. It’s nice to see this community give as much as they do.”

The radiothon has raised nearly $12 million for the hospital over the last two decades.
