Hall Communications station WKOL-FM/Burlington-Plattsburgh (KOOL 105) has set a record with its fundraising drive for Camp Ta-Kum-Ta this year. The 5-day radiothon brought in $203,881 to send kids in Vermont and New York State to summer camp. WKOL personalities Jon Brooks and Mark Knight anchored from KOOL’s South Burlington studios, with volunteers answering phones and taking pledges.

“KOOL 105 listeners have adopted Camp Ta-Kum-Ta as their own,” said Dan Dubonnet, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Hall Communications in Burlington-Plattsburgh. For 21 years, our December motto has been, ‘It’s Kool To Send A Kid To Camp’ and our listeners have responded. This year, they set a new record.”

The money raised by WKOL ensures 75 children with cancer will attend summer camp at Camp Ta-Kum-Ta in 2020 at no cost to their families. KOOL 105’s final day of the radiothon is featured in a YouTube video HERE.
