Local newsman Bob Sirott has been hired as WGN/Chicago’s morning drive host and Mary Sandberg Boyle has been promoted to General Manager.
A lifelong Chicagoan, Sirott started as a morning radio show personality in 1971. His career has spanned nearly five decades and has included stints at WMAQ, WBBM-FM, WLS, WGN and various television stations.
Sandberg Boyle has been the station’s acting General Manager since September 20. Boyle’s career in media spans 19 years. A Chicagoland native, she’s been with WGN Radio since 2015 and previously was Director of News and Operations.
