Special Farewell Night For Legendary Boston Jock

Boston radio personality and WBCN stalwart Charles Laquidara took to the stage for his First Farewell Tour ~ An Intimate Evening of Mishegas, at The Wilbur Theater in Boston, Tuesday night. Laquidara is famous for his Big Mattress radio show on WBCN, formerly 104.1FM, The Rock of Boston. Starting in ’68, he was a night DJ who switched over and dominated morning drive radio in Boston.

The former jock shared some great stories, many of which are chronicled in his Daze In The Life – A MultiMedia Memoir, and was joined on stage by legendary Red Sox pitcher Bill “Spaceman” Lee for an opening set, and also to do a Q+A session later in the evening.

Laquidara says this was his very last performance. Proceeds from ticket sales will support the David Bieber Archives to preserve Boston music, media, and popular culture.
