Tulsa’s KRAV-FM (TMix 96.5) collected a record-breaking amount of food during its annual Restock the Cupboard fundraiser to benefit the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. KRAV and partner organizations collected more than 64,000 meals in one day.
The on-air staff broadcast live from LaFortune Park in Tulsa for 12 hours to encourage listeners to give.

“As Thanksgiving approaches and we count our blessings, it’s hard not to think about our neighbors who may be struggling to put food on the table,” said Cathy Gunther, Market VP, Cox Media Group-Tulsa. “We are thrilled to be able to play off the fierce OU vs. OSU rivalry to help put food on the table of people who are struggling to make ends meet. One in four kids go to bed hungry in Tulsa, and that’s not something we can ignore.”

Restock the Cupboards is far from over. The station is asking listeners to donate online in support of their favorite team ahead of the big game on Saturday, November 30, between the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University. The school with the most donations after the game will be named the 2019 Restock Champion.
