The Broadcasters Foundation of America raised over $250,000, Monday, to help broadcasters in need during its 2019 Celebrity Golf Tournament at the Quaker Ridge Golf Club in Scarsdale, NY. More than 175 broadcasters and celebrities turned out to help support broadcasters who have experienced hardship due to illness or unforeseen disaster.

“The money raised from yesterday’s event comes at a time when we are helping more broadcasters and their families than ever before,” said Jim Thompson, President of the Broadcasters Foundation. “This year, we will distribute $1.5 million in aid to those in our industry who need it most. The Celebrity Golf Tournament is one of our biggest fundraisers, and we are grateful to our sponsors and players.”

Since its inception, the annual fundraising event has generated more than $5 million for financially afflicted broadcasters and their families.
