Cox Media Group Atlanta’s News powerhouse WSB hosted its 19th annual Care-a-Thon this week. The 37-hour event raised over $1.7 million for research and programs at the Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, nearly breaking the record set in 2017.

WSB Director of Branding and Programming Pete Spriggs said, “There is an extraordinary local story to tell at the Aflac Cancer Center—one that is filled with emotion and hope. Our entire team considers it the honor of their careers to be able to tell that story, and to meet the kids, parents, families, doctors, nurses, and caregivers there. But our listeners deserve all the credit, due to their incredible generosity year after year.”

“We are thankful to WSB Radio and their dedicated listeners for being our partners in raising awareness and desperately needed funding for pediatric cancer and blood disorders research at the Aflac Cancer Center,” says Ron Frieson, President of the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation and External Affairs. “In 19 years, we have raised more than $24 million to support the patients and families we serve. We could not do this important work without the support of WSB and its listeners.”
