77 WABC Radio will broadcast The John Batchelor Show live this week from the center of Tokyo. Batchelor will be joined by Christopher Nixon Cox. During the course of the week, Batchelor and Cox will travel widely to meet with and interview leaders from across Japanese culture. They are scheduled to speak with Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kano about the growth and prosperity of East Asia, and they look to visit with the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Forces to learn about the challenges in the South China Sea.

“Tokyo is the most modern capital in the Solar System, precise and luxurious, and we will be broadcasting from the very famous and storied Imperial Hotel at the edge of the Imperial Palace grounds,” Batchelor said. “Everything about Japan is futurist, but we will have time to visit a scholar who seeks to restore the traditional Japanese woodlands, home of the national butterfly, the Great Purple Emperor.”

The John Batchelor show airs Monday-Friday, 9:00 p.m.-1:00 a.m., and Sunday from 12:00 a.m.-1:00 a.m.
