Friends Ask Judge To Be Lenient On Carton

Ex-New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, Joe Piscopo and former WFAN co-host Boomer Esiason have asked a judge for mercy on Craig Carton. Carton will be sentenced April 5th, after being found guilty of running a $4 million ponzi scam.

Christie said, “I do not believe that Craig is a danger to society. I do not believe he is at all likely to be a recidivist. I think Craig found himself in this position because of other challenges in his life with which I am sure the Court is familiar and which I believe Craig is taking steps to deal with personally,” Christie wrote.

According to the New York Daily News Esiason said, “Honestly, I remain at a loss trying to figure out when and where it all went wrong. As I read the accounts of the trial, I was saddened to hear of the gambling debt he accrued and the pressure that he was under. Knowing Craig as well as I did, it doesn’t shock me that he never asked for help. He’s too proud for that.”

  1. Ok, so at first Craig Carton was innocent and he would exact revenge on all who said he was guilty…. Then when found guilty, he apologizes for al the people he hurt….Then he’s just a poor man with a gambling addiction……Now he’s a rape victim from when he was a child. Good grief. Carton did the crime now he has to do the time. No short cuts. No leniency. Give him whatever is the Full fair sentence. I just saw that an autism charity exec was given 3 years in prison for a $113k scam. Carton defrauded for upwards of $4million. Give him whatever years that correlates to that level of crime.

  2. If they were lenienent on every thief who stole to feed addiction, there likely wouldn’t be many crooks in prison. This scumball probably took several people for their life’s savings so he could feed his gambling addiction. Depending on reports, he stole somewhere between $4 and $6 million. I hope the judge throws the book at him, personally.
