Sherman Kizart, Managing Director Kizart Media Partners, will moderate a panel when the FCC holds a symposium on media diversity highlighting success stories of minority-owned and small, women-owned media businesses. New entrepreneurial opportunities for these businesses will also be explored. The symposium is Thursday, March 7 at FCC headquarters, 445 12th Street SW, Washington, DC.

NBC News White House Correspondent Kristen Welker will deliver the keynote address.  FCC Chairman Ajit Pai will speak (via video) and FCC Commissioners Michael O’Rielly, Brendan Carr, and Geoffrey Starks will address attendees in person.

Kizart said, ”FCC Chairman Pai’s vision was crystal clear when he issued the directive to the FCC Diversity Committee of creating  this important minority media symposium. As a member of the FCC Diversity Committee, it’s an honor, privilege, and opportunity to lead the discussion with noted African-American and Hispanic broadcast authorities and visionaries who are indeed pioneers and trailblazers. There isn’t a more crucial and pivotal time to better understand the importance of minority and women ownership and learn ways to significantly increase this ownership in the broadcast landscape.”
