A Decade Of Sports Success

Kudos to our friends at Compass Media Networks. Once the Super Bowl ticker tape flies in Atlanta bringing the 2018-2019 season to an official close, it will also put a bow on a decade of broadcasting NFL games to radio for Compass.

Back in 2009, Compass Media Networks set a goal of delivering choices, to sports stations with full national coverage, of the Dallas Cowboys and Oakland Raiders, NFL Sunday Doubleheaders, full coverage of college basketball, including The Big Ten Basketball Tournament, and coverage of college football, including The Big Ten Championship Game.

As the years went on, the Compass sports menu grew and big milestones were achieved, including broadcasting over 1,000 college basketball, college football and NFL games games, 10 consecutive years of exclusive and full coverage of the Men’s Big Ten Champion Basketball Tournament and the Battle of Tobacco Road — Duke vs. North Carolina in College Basketball — for the past 10 seasons.

In addition to 10 years of sports broadcasting success, Compass Media Networks says it has identified, developed, and championed some of the most renowned talent in all of sports broadcasting, including, on the play-by-play side, Kevin Burkhardt, Chris Carrino, Tim Cates, and Greg Papa. And, on the analyst side, Brian Baldinger, Tiki Barber, Doug Gottlieb,. and Jerry Recco.

“We take tremendous pride in the quality of our programming — the sound, the presentation, and the quality of our talent,” said Michelle Salvatore, GM/Compass Media Networks Sports. “Throughout the years, we have worked with the best in the business and also helped develop the best in the business.”

Overall, Compass Media Networks has 4,500+ affiliates for all content and programming. In the sports genre, they work with 350 stations.
