Late Thursday, Kalil & Company announced that Alpha Media is selling its six stations in Biloxi (WANG-AM, WTNI-AM, WCPR-FM, WGBL-FM, WQBBFM, and WXYK-FM). The buyer is TeleSouth Communications. The Mississippi-based company run by Stephen Davenport owns 21 stations in 12 markets. TeleSouth says it will immediately divest WXYK-FM in order to meet the FCC’s rules

Since Bob Proffitt took over for Larry Wilson as Alpha CEO in July, the company has been in sell mode. Hubbard purchased Alpha’s West Palm Beach cluster last month.

About this latest deal, Proffitt said, “We are happy our group of great broadcasters in Biloxi/Gulfport are being sold to a good operator located in the state of Mississippi that is dedicated to live and local. We have a special place for everyone at these stations and wish them the very best.”

The purchase price was not announced.
