The Philadelphia Classic Hits station raised over $250,000 to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia during the 17th annual 98.1 WOGL Loves Our Kids Radiothon on December 6 and 7. The radiothon was broadcast live from the hospital and hosted by Marilyn Russell, Harvey Holiday, and Nicky G.

“We are immensely grateful to our generous community of listeners, fans, and clients who supported the 17th annual 98.1 WOGL Loves Our Kids Radiothon to help the kids at CHOP,” said David Yadgaroff, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Entercom Philadelphia. “We sincerely thank each and every person who contributed to making this year’s event a huge success, including the volunteers and on-air personalities who donated their time and talent.”

“Each year, the entire Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia community looks forward to the 98.1 WOGL Loves Our Kids Radiothon,” said Madeline Bell, President and CEO, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. “Our hospital relies on philanthropic donations to advance our mission of making a difference in the lives of children everywhere. We thank everyone at WOGL, as well as the many volunteers, staff, and sponsors involved, for their commitment in making this year’s event such a tremendous success.”

  1. I like seeing stories like this. It showcases that the power of radio is still alive and well. I work for KRZZ in the Bay Area and we just did our radiothon and generated $460k in 2 days. Grateful that we have a loyal audience who is supporting positive causes. The fact that stations are still doing things for the local community is refreshing.
